A new study from Lemon Law Experts has a lot of actionable data for families looking to purchase a new or used car this summer.
The big takeaway for families? 6 of the 10 cars with the most consumer complaints aren't even being made anymore, but they are very common on used car lots, which is where budget-conscious families may look to do their shopping for a new vehicle.
3 of the most important findings from the study:
- The Chrysler Town & Country leads the rankings with 2,309 complaints per 100,000 sales, followed by the Ford Focus, Chrysler 300, Chrysler 200, and Ford Fusion
- The Hyundai Sonata is the worst-rated vehicle still being made, with 1,114 complaints per 100,000 sales
- The Mazda CX-5 has the fewest complaints of any best-seller at 176 per 100,000 sales
For families looking to do their own research, they can look up any vehicle by VIN, license plate, or year/make/model at nhtsa.gov/recalls. This is a great resource for anyone in the market for a used car.
